Alane Adams Holiday Box

I was provided with one of Alane Adams’s holiday boxes in exchange for my honest review by the author herself, in conjunction with BookSparks. The following thoughts are my honest opinions.

Hello, readers! I have a very special treat for you today! BookSparks and author Alane Adams very kindly sent me one of Adams’s adorable holiday boxes, and my oldest son, Gavin, and I couldn’t wait to open it up and see what was inside. We decided to do a little unboxing video for you, and before I get to my review of the box, I would love for you to check it out!

On to the review!

This box is super cute and makes the perfect gift for any book-loving kiddos in your life. Not only does it contain a few super sweet bonus treats, but it also includes three super sweet books written by Alane Adams and illustrated by Lauren Gallegos. All three books focus on a young boy named Georgie in 1920s Pennsylvania. In The Santa Thief, Georgie questions the existence of Santa and learns what Christmas is really about when his parents tell him that Santa probably won’t be bringing him the ice skates he desperately wants for Christmas. The Egg Thief tells the story of Georgie’s adventures with a stray dog named Buster after he catches him stealing eggs from the henhouse, and in The Coal Thief, Georgie faces tough questions about the difference between right and wrong when there’s not enough money to buy coal to heat his family’s home.

Please be advised…this box also contained some tasty treats, but my kids devoured them all before I could get a picture!

All three books are beautifully illustrated, and the stories themselves are so endearing that I actually found myself choking back tears while reading them to my sons, especially The Santa Thief. Both my boys loved the books, but my oldest son Gavin was especially invested in the stories. Having a more focused attention span than his younger brother (who has autism) definitely helped, but he was also fascinated by the elements of the time period and enjoyed becoming invested in Georgie’s character throughout the three books. All three books held his attention, and he loved the illustrations.

As for the box itself, it makes a perfect Christmas gift. The box itself is excellent quality and beautifully designed, and inside the box, the books and extra treats were perfectly packaged. At only $40, the box is also a great deal. You can purchase the box directly from Alane Adams’s website here.

Special thanks again to BookSparks and Alane Adams for sending us such a sweet box full of wonderful books and treats!
